A mini-Aerosmith reunion happened last September 17 at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles during the Joe Perry Project show when they were opening for The Who. Perry’s band has a special line-up this year featuring his Aerosmith bandmate Brad Whitford and last night they were joined by Steven Tyler to perform “Walk This Way” and “The Train Kept A-Rollin'”.
The Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash also joined them previously on the show to play “Mama Kin”. Since the band also has singer Chris Robinson (Black Crowes) and bassist Robert DeLeo (Stone Temple Pilots), the group also performed “Twice as Hard” and “Vasaline”, famous songs recorded by their groups. The current line-up also has the keyboardist Buck Johnson and drummer Jason Sutter (Smash Mouth, Cher).

Aerosmith announced in 2024 their retirement from touring but now revealed “One More Time“, a collaborative EP with the British singer Yungblud, best known by Metal fans these days for singing at Black Sabbath’s final festival and for paying tribute to Ozzy Osbourne at the VMA Awards, in which he performed “Mamma I’m Coming Home” alongside Steven Tyler and Joe Perry. The EP has four original tracks and a new version of the classic “Back in the Saddle”.
Due to Steven Tyler’s vocal injury, Aerosmith announced in 2024 their retirement from touring. But during the past months the singer has been singing in some charity concerts and fans started to question if a final show of the band was possible.
