Biff Byford, lead singer of the English heavy metal band Saxon, talked about touring holograms in an interview with Lords Of Metal.
Read what he said:
“Well, I really do not like this hologram thing. I’d rather watch a DVD instead. Fortunately, there are not many people interested in this sort of thing … But I do not know … technology has to improve a lot to make it interesting”.
“I think it’s more of a curiosity people have to want to see, and I’m not sure if they will continue to have that curiosity. I do not know. Personally, I do not like it. There is something a little … wrong with me. I’m not really interested in that, to be honest, and I do not think it’s going to be a big deal. Maybe if they did that in Las Vegas and they put Elvis Presley on, maybe that would work. Although I’m not sure Elvis would have liked it. ”
Currently, Dio Disciples is touring with a hologram of the singer, is in the production phase a hologram of Frank Zappa.
Saxon was formed in the 1970s, and is considered one of the exponents of the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The band sold more than 13 million copies of records worldwide with 21 studio albums.
