Philomena Lynott, the mother of legendary Thin Lizzy leader Phil Lynott, passed away on the morning of June 12, Wednesday at the age of 88, after years of battle with cancer.
The information was confirmed by the Hot Press magazine, which worked with Philomena in the book “My Boy”, which tells the life of the legendary musician.
“She was a formidable and brilliant woman,” Hot Press editor Niall Stokes said. “I’m very proud to be able to tell her remarkable story, because she was indeed a remarkable woman.”
He added, “She was extremely determined and courageous – and absolutely committed to the campaign to ensure that Philip’s memory was kept alive and his legacy celebrated.”
