The long-awaited Mötley Crüe return from retirement finally happened in Atlanta, Georgia last June 16 and even with broken ribs, the legendary drummer Tommy Lee (59) performed with the band. The musician was able to play “Wild Side”, “Shout At The Devil”, “Don’t Go Away Mad (Just Go Away)”, “Saints Of Los Angeles” and “Too Fast For Love”and then he was replaced by Tommy Clufetos (Ozzy Osbourne, Black Sabbath). After playing the songs he told the crowd why he wouldn’t be able to perform the entire show (Transcribed by Blabbermouth).
During the band’s last performance on June 18 in Miami, Florida, the musician played “Wild Side”, “Shout At The Devil”, “Too Fast For Love” and “Home Sweet Home” (Playing the piano).
The Stadium tour also has Def Leppard, Joan Jett and Poison.
Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee performed with broken ribs
“Okay, well, anyway, what I’ve gotta tell you is about 14 days ago, I fuckin’ broke not one, not two, not three, but four fuckin’ ribs right here. I wish I had a fuckin’ badass story, like me and Connor McGregor fuckin’ scrapping out in some fuckin’ bar or something. But I don’t.”
“Anyway, I hope you guys have a fucking great time. And my boy Tommy Clufetos back here, he’s gonna help me get through this. ‘Cause the doctors told me, ‘No playing, bro. No playing.’ And I was like, ‘Are you fucking high, bro? We’ve got a fucking tour to do.’ So anyway, I ain’t fuckin’ sitting out for shit. My boy’s gonna help me out here, and I’ll see you guys later. On with the goddamn show.”
