Former Judas Priest guitarist K.K. Downing spoke about his current relationship with former bandmates in an interview with the Iron City Rocks podcast. The musician has given the impression that he is not getting along well with his old teammates, who have Richie Faulkner in the spot since his retirement was announced in 2012.
Read what he said:
“I don’t know what happened, I tried to go quietly and quietly, but when things start to appear in the press, I don’t know why – maybe it’s a misinterpretation, but things happen and I think that mutual respect is ending,” he said.
Downing pointed out that he doesn’t want to end his relationship with his old Priest colleagues.
“I’m at an age when it’s not a good idea to end relationships permanently. I’d like to be in a situation where – and I’m sure it would – we could meet, shake hands and exchange hugs after so much time, keep the relationship intact, “he said.
The musician also spoke about the current health situation of guitarist Glenn Tipton, away from the tour that promotes the album “Firepower” due to the advancement of his diagnosis of Parkinson’s Disease – he is being replaced by Andy Sneap.
“Glenn was a surprise for all of us, but I heard that Glenn was in Montreal a few days ago for a show, so that’s good, and I think everyone, like me, wants the best for him. I hear the guys are going to tour with Ozzy next year in the UK with some great shows so it’s a show not to be missed. I’m more than happy and excited to meet and have a good day “, he said.
