Judas Priest finally announced “Invincible Shield”, their first studio album in five years, the follow-up for “Firepower” released in 2018. The first single called “Panic Attack” will be out next Friday, October 13. The complete album will be available on March 8, 2024 via Sony Music but the tracklist still wasn’t revealed.
The record was announced during the band’s concert at the Power Trip Festival, in Indio, California last Saturday. They played before the first AC/DC concert in more than seven years and the guitarist Glenn Tipton was part of the show.
Judas Priest current line-up has Rob Halford (Vocals), Ian Hill (Bass), Scott Travis (Drums), Richie Faulkner (Guitar), Andy Sneap (Guitarist – Touring) and Glenn Tipton (Guitarist – Studio and occasionally plays live).
Rob Halford recently talked about the new Judas Priest album
In an interview with Metal Express Radio in the beginning of 2023, he talked about the album and said that it was really good.
“When you’re in a band, you’re always trying to better yourself; you’re always trying to say, ‘This is the best album we’ve ever made.’ It’s just a natural thing to do. And I’m aware of the great success and love that was given to ‘Firepower’. And so how do you deal with that? Well, firstly, you have to let that go.”
He continued:
“You have to let that go, because it’s like you’re chasing after something that’s elusive. What’s the point of trying to emulate something that you’ve already done? We’ve just gotta do like we’ve always done with Priest, the way that every album has its own concept, every album has its own thing.”
“‘British Steel’ isn’t ‘Painkiller’; ‘Painkiller’ isn’t ‘Point Of Entry’; ‘Point Of Entry’ isn’t ‘Nostradamus’. So this album is shaping up to be its own thing. It’s great. It’s a really good album, and I know our fans are gonna love it,” Rob Halford said.
