Woodstock 50 situation is getting worst. John Fogerty canceled his participation in the 50th celebration of the original Woodstock. In 1969, he played with Creedence Clearwater Revival.
Jay-Z, canceled his participation in the troubled festival due to take place in a few weeks. According to the Associated Press, the information comes from someone familiar with the festival who reported on Friday, 26, that the musician will no longer close the three-day festival that will take place between 16 and 18 August.
This is just one of Woodstock 50’s many problems. They have had to change plans several times after being denied security by the US authorities, and the place where it would originally happen.
Woodstock 50 will no longer happen in New York, but in Maryland, according to an announcement published just weeks before the big event.
Woodstock 50 producers told The New York Times that the event scheduled for August 16-18 will be at the Merriweather Post Pavilion Amphitheater in Columbia, Maryland.
The announcement of the new venue does not take Woodstock 50 out of doubt, as the venue announced as its stage has Smashing Pumpkins and Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds show on August 17, one of the festival’s dates.
For now, the other names listed for the festival are Dead & Company, The Killers, Miley Cyrus, Imagine Dragons and Chance the Rapper.
