Good news about Joe Perry’s health! After being taken to the hospital after playing with Billy Joel live in a singer’s concert, the Aerosmith guitarist is feeling ok and was discharged from the Hospital and is already at home resting. The musician collapsed in the dressing room at Madison Square Garden in New York on November 11.

At the time, Perry was taken care of by paramedics in the place and had to receive oxygen before being taken by an ambulance. The day after the incident, the guitarist’s team issued a statement saying he was “alert and responsive”.

Joe Perry used Twitter to alert fans that he’s okay and still thanked him for his support.

Before the show, Perry and Joel shared a photo on Instagram:

Life and Career

Joseph Anthony Perry (born September 10, 1950) is the lead guitarist, backing and occasional lead vocalist, and contributing songwriter for the American rock band Aerosmith.

He was ranked 84th in Rolling Stone’s list of The 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time. In 2001, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as part of Aerosmith, and in 2013, Perry and his songwriting partner Steven Tyler were recipients of the ASCAP Founders Award and were also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In October 2014, Simon & Schuster released Rocks: My Life In and Out of Aerosmith, written by Perry with David Ritz.

He is a huge fan of the early Fleetwood Mac, particularly their first lead guitarist, Peter Green, which explains the occasional inclusion of the FM classics “Stop Messin’ Round” and “Rattlesnake Shake” in Aerosmith’s sets. Steven Tyler has even mentioned that hearing Perry play “Rattlesnake Shake” brought them together. He is also a huge fan of guitarist Jeff Beck and looked at him as one of his influences.
