Jason Bonham, son of the late John Bonham, reported that he had legal problems with his tribute band to his father which was originally called Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience
He said:
“I got a letter from their attorney, who happens to be my attorney as well. As I read the first few lines, I felt very upset. It was my wife who saved me from getting into a rage; I was about to group-dial Jimmy [Page], John Paul [Jones] and Robert [Plant] and go, ‘What the hell…!’ but she said, ‘Read the rest.’ And I saw it wasn’t personal.
They wanted to free up the terminology. It was my wife who said, ‘Why don’t you call it ‘Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Evening’ — that way I could keep the logo the same. I said, ‘You’re a genius! That’s why I’ve been with you 30 years!’”
Jason John Bonham (born 15 July 1966) is an English drummer. He is the son of the late Led Zeppelin drummer John Bonham and Patricia “Pat” Bonham (born Phillips). After his father’s death in September 1980, he played with Led Zeppelin on different occasions, including the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert at The O2 Arena in London in 2007.
Bonham first began playing drums at the age of four, and appeared with his father in the film The Song Remains the Same, drumming on a scaled-down kit.[1] At 17, he joined his first band, Airrace. In 1985, he joined Virginia Wolf, making two albums and touring the US supporting the Firm.
