Ozzy

Ozzy Osbourne already was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame back in 2006 as a member of Black Sabbath but next October 19 he will also be inducted as a solo artist. When the Metal group was inducted almost two decades ago, it was Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich and James Hetfield the ones who inducted them. Now, who will induct Ozzy will be the famous actor and Tenacious D member Jack Black.

He revealed that in an interview with Rolling Stone and said: “Jack invited my family to the School of Rock movie premiere in 2002. I’ve always been a big fan of his. Jack is one of the few great actors that is also a genuine rock & roller and not acting the part.”

Ozzy didn’t reveal if he will be able to sing at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction

Osbourne has been facing a lot of health issues during the past years which forced to cancel his farewell tour. He had the chance to perform a few songs since then during special events but he didn’t reveal if he will be able to perform at the induction ceremony but he announced a special line-up for the occasion who will sing his songs. They are Billy Idol, Maynard James Keenan and Jelly Roll.

He talked about the musicians, saying: “Billy Idol is a rock icon. His music is timeless. Billy Idol should be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Maynard has been a true family friend since 1997.” He adds, “He is such a creative force. There are few artists who can keep three successful bands going for multiple decades.”

“Who doesn’t love Jelly Roll? His voice is soulful, pure, and dirty. I’m so honored that someone would do this for me who I’ve never had the pleasure of meeting,” Ozzy Osbourne said.

Other musicians who will also play his songs are Wolfgang Van Halen, Zakk Wylde, Rob Trujillo, Andrew Watt, Steve Stevens, Adam Wakeman and Chad Smith. Will also be inducted names like Cher, Peter Frampton, Mary J. Blige and Foreigner.
