Iron Maiden admits that they plagiarized “Hallowed Be Thy Name”

The copyright lawsuit of the 1982 Iron Maiden classic song “Hallowed Be Thy Name” came to an end. The lawsuit filed by Barry McKay, formerly of Barry McKay, claims that Steve Harris and Dave Murray played much of “Life’s Shadown”, Beckett, in The Number of the Beast song.

Harris and Murray paid about £ 100,000 to Brian Quinn and Robert Barton, composers of “Life’s Shadow.” The band is pronouncing on the decision in a statement released on Monday, 12.

“We do not believe that Brian Quinn wrote the six lines in question over 40 years ago, as Barry McKay has argued, but because of legal fees that could boost court costs, we decided to close a £ 100,000 settlement , a fraction of what an action called for. ”

“Hallowed Be Thy Name” was removed from the Iron Maiden set list because of the action. But with the end of the process, the music can be played again in the band’s shows.
