In an interview with Spain’s Metal Journal, Judas Priest bassist Ian Hill spoke about whether he can imagine the band following without him, Glenn Tipton, guitarist, and vocalist Rob Halford.
Read what he said:
“Well, that’s the kind of thing you don’t know until it happens, right? We have to wait and see about it. And it is not for us; is more to the fans than anything else – whether they will accept it or not. It’s up to them, really – not us.”
Hill was also asked if Andy Sneap is expected to remain in the band, even after the end of the Firepower album tour. “Andy obviously has his other career, which is a music producer. And this tour will continue next year so we have plenty of time to start thinking about it. So let’s see where we’ll be at the end. We will see”.
Sneap is replacing Glenn Tipton on the tour. The guitarist is away due to the advance of Parkinson’s Disease. Tipton, now 70 years old, has played all Judas Priest albums since 1974, and despite having recorded the last work, he can’t play during an entire show, making only sporadic appearances on some songs.
