Blondie announced “High Noon”, their 12th studio album, which is their first since “Pollinator” released in 2017. The first single “Spectral Eyes” is available and was written by The Smiths’ Johnny Marr, who also plays in the song. The complete record will be out next February 26.
Vocalist Debbie Harry talked about the new album, saying: “This album is classic Blondie, an amalgamation of all our different influences and eras into something new. This music feels grounded in the present, shaped by who we are and how we’re living now.” Her husband and bandmate, the guitarist Chris Stein chimed in: “It’s been a long, strange ride, and somehow here we are with another Blondie album, I’m not sure what the fuck I’m supposed to say at this point, except that we’re incredibly grateful for all your support over the years,” he said. It’s Blondie’s first album since the death of their longtime drummer Clem Burke, who apssed in 2025 at the age of 70.
