A previously unreleased cover of The Who‘s classic song “I Can’t Explain”, recorded by the late legendary David Bowie was released. The track is part of the upcoming boxset “Rock ‘N’ Roll Star”, which will be out next June 14.
That version was recorded during the sessions for his album “The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and The Spiders from Mars” in 1972. He later re-recorded the song for his 1973 covers album “Pin Ups” but that version was slower. So this unreleased track is from a take done in June 24, 1972 and is named “Trident Studios Version – Take 2”.
