The bad boys from Boston are one of the most sucessful rock and roll bands of all time. Especially since the ’90s with huge hits that played countless times on MTV, they went from being a hard rock / blues rock icon to becoming a more pop band that appealed to fans of all genres.
And among so many hits, some that have had a certain success in their time of release have been forgotten. One of them is “Let The Music Do The Talking”, which they are playing as opening their show in 2017. A classic forgotten and unknown to the younger audience and less fan of the band.
The song was originally by The Joe Perry Project in 1980 and later re-recorded by the re-united Aerosmith in 1985.

After he left Aerosmith in 1979, he formed his solo project, aptly titled The Joe Perry Project. He released his first album, Let the Music Do the Talking in 1980. The song was included as the first song and title track of the record.
In 1984, Perry and Brad Whitford rejoined Aerosmith. That recorded the album Done with Mirrors one year later. Steven Tyler and the other band members were quite impressed with Perry’s “Let the Music Do the Talking” and decided to include it on the album.

The song was re-recorded by Aerosmith with new lyrics sung by Tyler, and the running time was reduced by about a minute. The song was issued as a single shortly after the album’s release. It became the album’s most successful single, peaking at #18 on the Mainstream Rock Tracks chart.
