Eyellusion, the company responsible for creating the Dio hologram, revealed that it will also be responsible for the hologram of Frank Zappa. The tour will be called The Bizarre World of Frank Zappa and will begin later this year.
The band that will accompany the hologram is composed by Ray White, Mike Keneally, Scott Thunes, Robert Martin and Joe ‘Vaultmeister’ Travers, who will join with Steve Vai, Warren Cuccurullo, Ian Underwood, Vinnie Colaiuta, Napoleon Murphy Brock, Arthur Barrow, Ed Mann, among others.
Eyellusion will use images from the 70s that never went on the air before. Frank’s son, Ahmet said, “My father and I discussed a lot about 3D and holograms, and it was a concept that he was actively involved. He actually devoted half a chapter of his book to this subject. This is a love letter and a journey commemorating his genial art. On a personal note, I feel like I’m putting an end to something that my father started years ago ”
Frank was a singer and American guitarist who mixed Rock, Jaz, Fusion and other elements. The musician died in 1993 due to prostate cancer.
