Eric Clapton announces new album and releases first single

The guitarist and singer Eric Clapton announced a new studio album called “Meanwhile” that will be out digitally next October 4 and on Vinyl and CD next January 24. The first single “One Woman” is already available on streaming platforms.

The album has special guests like the late Jeff Beck, Van Morrison, Bradley Walker, Judith Hill, Daniel Santiago and Simon Climie. It’s six brand new songs and eight previously released singles.

Clapton’s current band has Nathan East (bass), Doyle Bramhall II (guitar), Sonny Emory (drums), Chris Stainton (keyboards), Tim Carmon (Hammond/keyboards), Sharon White (backing vocals) and Katie Kissoon (backing vocals).

Next tour dates

Clapton has scheduled tour dates in South America and United States this year. The support in Buenos Aires, Curitiba, Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, and Mexico City is Gary Clark Jr. Jimmie Vaughan will support him in San Diego, Palm Desert and Los Angeles.

Then on October 17, Clapton will be part of the festival “Life Is a Carnival”, which is a tribute to the late legendary The Band guitarist and singer Robbie Robertson, who passed away at the age of 80 in 2023. The tribute show will happen at the KIA Forum in Los Angeles.
