Eric Bloom to miss some Blue Öyster Cult shows after surgery

Eric Bloom Blue Oyster Cult

Blue Öyster Cult guitarist and singer Eric Bloom announced that he will miss some shows on the band’s current tour after undergoing an undisclosed surgery. “During BÖC’s time off, I scheduled a non-life-threatening surgical procedure. I am on the mend, but the recovery is taking a little longer than expected. Kasim Sulton will be standing in for me for a few shows and will knock it out of the park! I’ll see you soon,” he said in a statement.

Sulton previously played with Blue Öyster Cult from 2012 to 2017 as their bassist. He is also known for being the singer and multi-instrumentalist of Utopia and has also collaborated with artists such as Joan Jett, Meat Loaf, The New Cars and Todd Rundgren.

Besides Bloom, Blue Öyster Cult is currently formed by Buck Dharma (Vocals and guitar – Since 1967), Danny Miranda (Bass – 1995 to 2004 and since 2017), Richie Castellano (Keyboards, guitar and vocals – Since 2004) and Jules Radino (Drums – Since 2004).
