Being a rockstar goes beyond great musical talent, stage presence and a remarkable discography. It is also about using your fame for good. Megadeth bassist David Ellefson is taking it seriously. The musician will give music lessons to children during the quarantine period, due to the COVID-19 crisis.
The musician’s foundation, David Ellefson Music Foundation, announced the School’s Out! Project. Which refers to the classic Alice Cooper song. And will have music classes and mentoring sessions via Skype, for children at home. whose teachers will be musicians from legendary bands and artists from rock and heavy metal.
The NGO’s mission, says Ellefson, is to keep the study of music active in schools, but what to do since schools have closed? With that, the idea came up, supported by great music companions, which aims to bring hope, creativity, and of course, music, to children trapped at home in this very difficult time for the world. Students here can do the application at ellefsonyouthmusicfoundation.org
