Dave Mustaine, lead singer and guitarist for Megadeth, told Guitar World magazine about the band’s plans to release a new album.
Read what he said:
“We’ve been working for a few weeks now,” he said. “Every member of the band is at home writing stuff and focusing on one place. Everyone can access the ideas of others. When we’re done, I’ll start putting everything together. ”
Asked if that means we’ll have anything new in 2019, he said “Absolutely, for sure. A brand new album. I’d say the odds are 95%. And at least one new song, I’d say 100%. ”
The band’s next work will be the first with drummer Dirk Verbeuren, formerly Soilwork. Verbeuren replaced Chris Adler of Lamb Of God.
Mustaine also revealed that the release of the next album will coincide with an event curated by Megadeth “We have a big festival that we are going to announce. It really is a great deal. Equivalent to Gigantour, but a much younger idea. ”
Dystopia, an album released in 2016, was the first with Brazilian guitarist Kiko Loureiro.
