Best known for his role as Captain Kirk in the Star Trek series, William Shatner has also worked in other art forms, including music. Now, at the age of 95, he is working on his fifth studio album, which will be entirely Heavy Metal and feature many rock stars as guests. The latest addition to the record is Queen‘s co-founder and guitarist Brian May. Besides him are also part of the record drummer Dave Lombardo (Ex-Slayer). singer Rob Halford (Judas Priest), bassist John Moyer (Disturbed). Other special guests might be announced soon.
William Shatner has done almost everything he could throughout his career, from television series and movies to indirectly becoming the face of Michael Myers in the Halloween franchise and, more recently, becoming one of the first civilians to travel to space. So Brian May fits quite well alongside Shatner, since both have a connection to the universe and space, with Brian being an astrophysicist
The track which Brian May will play on wasn’t revealed but Rob Halford will be featured on the cover of Judas Priest‘s classic song “You’ve Got Another Thing Comin’”. The record is currently in production and still has no name or release date. Shatner recently confirmed he will appear at Riot Fest next September.
William’s musical career started in 1968, with the release of his debut “The Transformed Man”. During the past five years he released four studio albums, with many special guests like Canned Heat, Joe Walsh, Ritchie Blackmore and Zakk Wylde.
