Bassist Roger Glover talks about upcoming Deep Purple album

Since 2020, Deep Purple released two albums “Woosh!” (2020) and the covers record “Turning To Crime” (2021). Now, the band is working in a new album that will be the first one to feature their new guitarist Simon McBride, who replaced in 2022 the longtime guitar player Steve Morse, who decided to leave the band to take care of his wife, who is battling cancer.

In an interview with the Brazilian radio station A Rádio Rock (Transcribed by Blabbermouth), the band’s bassist Roger Glover talked about the upcoming record.

Bassist Roger Glover talks about upcoming Deep Purple album

“Well, we’ve just undergone a big change, because our guitarist Steve Morse had to retire from the band because he was looking after his very ill wife. And so we have a new guitarist in the band called Simon McBride. And it’s a whole experience; I mean, it’s a different band.”

“In a way, we have to embrace change. You can’t do the same thing over and over again, and we’ve had several changes, of course, over the years. And this one is particularly exciting. ‘Cause we’ve been working on a new album; we should have a new album out by next year. And we can’t stop writing. That’s what we do,” Roger Glover said.
