Back in 2018 the movie "Bohemian Rhapsody" was released telling the story of Freddie Mercury and Queen. Besides being a huge box-office success, the film also received several awards, including four Academy Awards: Best Actor, Best Film Editing, Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing. In an interview with Eddie Trunk (Transcribed by Bravewords), the band's guitarist Brian May talked about a possible sequel to the movie, since the story told in the film goes only until the Live Aid performance in 1985. After that performance the band still released two new studio albums: "The Miracle" (1989) and "Innuendo" (1991). Brian May talks about a possible "Bohemian Rhapsody" sequel "There's truth to the fact that we talk about it. We'd love it. We'd love to make a sequel. It's finding the right script. It actually took us 12 years to find the right script for the first one. So I guess it's no surprise that it's not easy. There is a story there." "An awful lot happened after the end of the 'Bohemian Rhapsody' movie script, if you like, story. Um, but it's whether it would make a film, I don't know. And we don't want to put it out there or make it unless we are sure that it's gonna work and it's gonna move people in the same way as the original film did. The short answer is we'd love to and we haven't found a way of doing it yet." "It'd be nice to get the same four guys back to players cuz they're so stupendous, all of them, which is great. I mean, Rami's [Malek] amazing. Gwilym [Lee] who played me, incredible. I mean, he fooled my kids. My kids thought I voiced the part, but he did it all," Brian May said. As May said, Freddie Mercury was played by Rami Malek, Brian May by Gwilym Lee, Roger Taylor by Ben Hardy and John Deacon by Joseph Mazzello. https://youtu.be/L0VyJH86DBc
