During the last years the success of biopics about musicians and bands were proven. It's not only really profitable for the movie producers but also for the artists themselves, since they reach a whole new audience with their music. After Queen, Elton John and many more, it's time for The Beatles to have their own movie. However, each member of the band will have their own movie which will be released separately. The films were conceived by the British director Sam Mendes, famous for movies like American Beauty, 1917 and two 007 films. He will direct all four movies. Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison allowed the projects. So the producers have the permission to use their full life story and music rights for the script. Ringo Starr was the first one to talk about the project. He said on his social networks: "Have you heard the news? Oh boy. We all support the Sam Mendes movie project. Yes, indeed. peace and love." Sam Mendes talked about the movies about The Beatles members The director Sam Mendes explained the idea of the movies in an official statement posted on The Beatles website. “I’m honoured to be telling the story of the greatest rock band of all time, and excited to challenge the notion of what constitutes a trip to the movies." Pippa Harris, who is part of Neal Street Productions, which will co-produce the movies, also talked about the films. “We intend this to be a uniquely thrilling, and epic cinematic experience: four films, told from four different perspectives which tell a single story about the most celebrated band of all time." "To have The Beatles’ and Apple Corps’ blessing to do this is an immense privilege. From our first meeting with Tom Rothman and Elizabeth Gabler, it was clear that they shared both our passion and ambition for this project, and we can’t think of a more perfect home than Sony Pictures.” The project will involve Sony Pictures Entertainment, Sam Mendes and Neal Street Productions. https://www.instagram.com/p/C3lOJngpV0k/
