After this event she decided to make her own festival and over the years, Ozzfest has become the largest heavy music festival in the US. The festival The festival is traditionally made up of two stages. On the main stage usually the most consecrated artists are presented. The second stage (Hot Topic) brings presentations of lesser known bands or new bands. In 2002, Ozzfest was also held in England at Donington Park. Most of the time, Ozzfest is performed in stadiums due to the large number of people who flock to the shows. The 2004 tour began in Hartford, Connecticut on July 10 and the 2005 festival began on July 15, ending only on September 4 of that year. The 2004 Ozzfest was joined by MTV who created a program called Battle for Ozzfest, where Ozzy and Sharon chose eight out of hundreds of bands to compete for a spot on Ozzfest stages. They chose one member from each band to perform various tasks and each week a band was disqualified. In the end Marc Serrano of A Dozen Furies was the winner and the band toured at Ozzfest 2004. In 2009 there was no Ozzfest, as Ozzy wanted to focus on his new album. In 2010 Ozzfest returned and toured England and the United States with many artists on two stages. In 2005 on Aug. 20, Iron Maiden after replacing Black Sabbath as the main attraction, Maiden took shower of eggs and had the light turned off by Sharon Osbourne. See more News
