Judas Priest bassist Ian Hill said in an interview to Audio Ink his interest in making a collaboration between his band, Judas Priest, and Iron Maiden, whether in studio or tour. The two groups are among the biggest names in British heavy metal, but they never worked together, although Maiden did open up a few Priest performances in 1980. Hill talked about the possibility by being asked which band he would like Priest to collaborate with someday, whether in studio or on a joint tour. "There is always the question of Judas Priest and Iron Maiden," he replied. "It would be very interesting if we could do something together before someone dies, it would be great!" (Laughs). There are many other bands we play with. We have Uriah Heep as special guests on the tour. I was a fan of Uriah Heep in the past. They are as old as we are, maybe even a little more. [...] We play with some bands, but we need to play with Iron Maiden," he said.
