He started performing at a young age, making his live debut in a school band, during the intermission of one of his father's promoted shows. Belfast, Northern Ireland legend, a British enclave on the island – a city then known only as the birthplace of Van Morrison’s Them – Gary Moore played in several local groups since 1967, at the age of 15. The absolute dominance of the guitar and its clean, heavy tones enchanted pub audiences.
