Bassist and singer Glenn Hughes first achieved fame as a member of Trapeze and later entered rock history by replacing Roger Glover in Deep Purple, contributing to the classic albums Burn (1974) and Come Taste the Band (1975). Beyond Ritchie Blackmore, he worked with many other incredible guitarists during his career, including Tony Iommi and Tommy Bolin. However, as he told Classic Rock, the two best guitarists he worked with are not any of them. Glenn Hughes says that Gary Moore and Bonamassa were the best guitarists he worked with “Oh god, that’s really difficult. I don’t want people to be upset with me because I don’t mention Ritchie or Tommy or Mel or Pat, but I have to say it’s a tie between Gary Moore and Joe Bonamassa." “I’m talking about the fever it has given me working with them. Gary coming to my house at three in the morning and just blowing my mind - it’s incredible what a guitar player he was. And Joe Bonamassa is blowing my mind every night. Bonamassa is the greatest right now,” Glenn Hughes said. Glenn was part of Gary Moore's 1985 album "Run for Cover", playing the bass guitar and singing on several tracks. Since 2009 he is the frontman of Black Country Communion, supergroup formed alongside the drummer Jason Bonham (Zeppelin's John Bonham's son), the guitarist Joe Bonamassa and the keyboardist Derek Sherinian. So far they have released five studio albums: "Black Country Communion" (2010), "Black Country Communion 2" (2011), "Afterglow" (2012), "BCCIV" (2017) and "V" (2024).
