Zakk Wylde says that following Ozzy in drunkenness led him to alcoholism

In an interview with Jenny McCarthy’s show on SiriusXM Zakk Wylde commented on how his alcohol problems started.

“I was 19 years old. That’s when my drinking problems started. I drank already and the thing increased from then on. When I started playing with Ozzy, Sharon Osbourne became worried and went to talk to Barbaranne” [Zakk’s wife].

“I was the only person accompanying Ozzy because everyone was afraid to get stuck in that web, they were afraid to support him and feel guilty later. But I always go out with him. How could anyone deny going out with Ozzy? They let me know that I was an amateur and that I had no idea where I was getting myself.”

“So I went straight out with Ozzy and we drank all the time. Sharon asked Barbaranne if I had a drinking problem, and Barbaranne said I only drank milk”.

“A lot of my friends went to college … and I went to the University of Ozzy Osbourne, which was like the movie Gossip Club with steroids.”
