The Pretenders releases new song “Let The Sun Come In”

The Pretenders

The Pretenders will release a new studio album called “Relentless” next September 1st and revealed the first single called “Let The Sun Come In”. “I enjoy seeing the various meanings and origins of a word,” the vocalist and guitarist Chrissie Hynde said about the album’s title. “I liked the definition: ‘Showing no abatement of intensity.’ It’s the life of the artist. You never retire. You become relentless.”

About the writing process of the new record she said: “We had developed this method of working remotely, and it seemed like we just kept on doing it for this album. This is something that we’ve honed down to an art in the last few years. [Walbourne] always comes up with something I wouldn’t have thought of myself, and I love surprises.”

The band’s current line-up his formed by the original members Chrissie Hynde (Vocals, guitar and harmonica), Martin Chambers (Drums), Nick Wilkinson (Bass – Since 2005), James Walbourne (Guitar and keyboards – Since 2008) and Eric Heywood (Guitar – Since 2008).
