Saxon releases version for Nazareth’s “Razamanaz”

Saxon

Saxon released a version for the Nazareth classic song “Razamanaz”, that is the second single of their upcoming covers album “More Inspirations”, a sequel to their record “Inspirations” released in 2021.

The new album will be out next March 24 via Silver Lining Music and will feature versions of tracks from The Animals, The Who, Rainbow, Kiss, Cream and more.

The album was recorded by Biff Byford (Vocals), Paul Quinn (Guitar), Nigel Glocker (Drums), Nibbs Carter (Bass) and Doug Scarratt (Guitar). Quinn recently announced his retirement from touring, what forced the band to cancel their South American tour dates in 2023. They also had to cancel the remaining European dates because Byford catched Covid.

“In the seventies we’d go and see Nazareth they were one of the premier touring hard rock bands. We were lucky to tour with them in 1980, they used to open the show with this song, it’s about the audience performed to an audience… brilliant stuff!” Biff Byford said in an official statement.

“Whether unveiling a sensational take on The Sensational Alex Harvey Band’s “The Faith Healer” (in the process showing the direct lineage from teenage turntables to international glory), getting feral with The Animal’s “We’ve Gotta Get Out Of This Place”, letting loose a high-octane take on Alice Cooper’s “From The Inside”, or laying down a ferocious tribute to KISS’ “Detroit Rock City”, More Inspirations is a joyous trip into the sounds which galvanized the Barnsley boys and continue to get spun on home stereos and tour buses,” the official statement of the band said.
