Metallica released a professional footage from their performance of Thin Lizzy’s classic version for “Whiskey In The Jar” in Ireland. The band paid tribute to the late bassist and vocalist Phil Lynott in their recent concert at the Slane Castle in Mearth, Ireland.
“We love you, Phil,” frontman James Hetfield said at the end of the song.
In 1973, Thin Lizzy released their classic version for the traditional irish song that became a rock and roll classic. In 1998, on the “Garage Inc.” covers album, Metallica paid they tribute to the band making a version for “Whiskey In The Jar”, winning a Best Hard Rock Performance Grammy for it at the 2000 ceremony.

Sad news, Phill Lynott’s mother Philomena died at 88.
