Eric Clapton releases electronic “Jingle Bells” version in tribute to Avicii

Avicii and Eric Clapton

Eric Clapton has a new christmas album called “Happy Xmas” and it brings re-readings of Christmas songs by the legendary guitarist.

It turns out that one of the tracks is the cover of the classic “Jingle Bells”, but the recorded version has nothing to do with what we know and also has nothing to do with the rest of Clapton’s career, since it is full of electronic elements.

The way the music was composed is justified as a tribute to the Swedish DJ Avicii, that unfortunately killed himself this year.

Hear the song below:

The album is produced by Eric Clapton with Simon Climie, and is the 23rd of his career, succeeding I Still Do (2016).

The cover of Happy Xmas was designed by the singer himself, and you can see it, as well as the list of songs, below.
