An audiophile is a person who is enthusiastic about high-fidelity sound reproduction. Audiophile values may be applied at all stages of music reproduction: the initial audio recording, the production process, and the playback, which is usually in a home setting.
Back in 2006, The Audio Video Revolution website, focused on the analysis and sale of high-definition audio and video equipment, made in June 2006 a list of the 100 greatest bands in rock history, based on factors such as number of albums sold, hability with the instruments, innovation, live performance and consistency during the career.
The judges were Jack Sonni (Dire Straits guitarist), Ken Lopez (University of Southern California music teacher), Charles Andrews (AVRev.com site editor), Howard Schilling (president of XHi-Fi and AVRev. Com) and Jerry Del Colliano Jr. (music editor).
